Intersection encounter
In *Welcome to the N.H.K.*, protagonist Tatsuhiro Satō is accosted by a mysterious man claiming to be from "N.H.K." at a bustling electronics district intersection. On a summer afternoon, surrounded by crowds, giant electronic billboards, and rows of anime shops, Satō is at a loss; then his senior Kohiru Tsukiko walks through the crowd from the opposite side, breaking the tension.
