In the third chapter of *5 Centimeters per Second*, a boy and a girl stand side by side on a pedestrian bridge in the late afternoon. The setting sun stretches their shadows long, and train tracks extend toward the horizon. The boy gazes at the sky and softly says, "We're like drifting through space." The girl leans on the railing, her hair lifted by the wind. This bridge witnesses their conversation about distance and loneliness.
