Red postbox in front of Sangubashi Station
In *5 Centimeters per Second*, near the end of the third segment, the protagonist Takaki passes a striking red postbox on a quiet residential street in the morning. He then walks toward a nearby railroad crossing, where he almost encounters his childhood friend. The postbox stands still in the spring daylight, surrounded by peaceful trees and houses.
