Shinjuku No. 1 Crossing
In *5 Centimeters per Second*, the protagonist Takaki Tōno stops at a railroad crossing in a large city as a train rushes past behind him. He passes by his childhood friend Akari without recognizing her; after the train clears, he looks back at the empty crossing, then smiles and walks on.
