Nakameguro Station Platform
In *5 Centimeters Per Second*, elementary school students Takaki and Akari walk home together under the setting sun, eventually stopping at the platform of a ground-level station. The camera captures them from behind as an approaching train sound is heard. They exchange brief goodbyes and head toward different ticket gates. The blinking signal light and the extending railway tracks create a poignant parting scene.
