The Snowy Crossroads Where They Pass Each Other
In '5 Centimeters per Second', in the third act, Takaki Tōno walks through a broad snowy intersection. He stops and looks back, as if sensing something. Akari Shinohara also passes by from the opposite side, and they miss each other without turning back. The intersection is flanked by tall office buildings, and the chime of the traffic lights echoes in the snow.
