In *Tamako Love Story*, the protagonist Tamako stands in front of her family's mochi shop, looking toward the iconic giant whale sculpture at the end of the street. The whale's mouth is wide open, as if about to swallow the entire shopping arcade. This is the symbol of Usagiyama Shopping Street, a sight Tamako has seen since childhood.
