In *Barakamon*, protagonist Seishuu Handa moves to a rural island. On a summer afternoon, he visits a small shrine together with Naru Kotoishi and the other children. The shrine is situated on a gentle slope, surrounded by lush trees, with a vermilion torii gate at the top of the stone steps. The children run and play in the open space in front of the shrine, while Seishuu sits on the steps, gazing at the distant view, feeling the peace and simplicity of island life.
