In *Initial D*, on the winding downhill road of Mount Akina, Takumi Fujiwara's AE86 uses the gutter technique to overtake opponents. This mountain pass, known as "Irohazaka," features consecutive hairpin turns and serves as the iconic racing stage in the story. As the starting point of the downhill race, it is where drivers often prepare and rev their engines.
