School route monument
In *Mai Mai Miracle*, the protagonist Shinko and her friends pass by a roadside stone monument every day on their way to school. The monument is inscribed with characters referring to an ancient administrative site, set against a backdrop of vast fields and distant mountains under the summer sun.
