Bridge Before the Prefectural Road Intersection
In *Non Non Biyori*, a small rustic bridge crosses a gentle stream in the countryside. The bridge has metal railings painted a faded green, with a narrow roadway barely wide enough for a single car. The main characters—Renge Miyauchi, Hotaru Ichijō, Kojika Koshigaya, and Natsumi Koshigaya—often walk across it together after school, sometimes stopping to lean over the railing and watch fish in the water or listen to cicadas in summer. A weathered signpost at one end points the way to Asahigaoka Branch School. Sunlight filters through the trees onto the bridge deck in summer, while in winter it is lightly dusted with snow.
