Bridge on the Way to School
In "Norin", the protagonist Hata Kousaku and Ringo Kinoshita pass a large bridge crossing a wide river every day on their way to and from school. The bridge has a flat deck with white railings, and beneath it flows a calm river. In the distance, green mountains and farmlands can be seen. One spring morning, Ringo called out to Kousaku on this bridge and handed him an apple from her family's orchard. The scene of them walking side by side across the bridge became an iconic daily-life moment.
