In the first episode of *The Eccentric Family*, Yasaburo, Yaichiro, and other brothers, in human form, sit on the roof of an old theater. The camera looks down from the eaves over the Kyoto streetscape as the tanuki discuss a hunt by the 'Friday Club'. Under the evening sun, the streets below are bustling, while they lazily wag their tails.
