Meeting at Shinjuku Station East Exit
In *The Garden of Words*, at the opening on a rainy morning, the protagonist Takao Akizuki takes shelter under the awning of an optician's shop outside the east exit of Shinjuku Station. Then Yukari Yukino, the heroine, approaches under an umbrella, and they meet for the first time. The shot features the glass canopy of the station exit, the bright sign of the glasses store, and the drizzling rain.
