Endless vermilion torii tunnel
In *Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha.*, the protagonist Inari often passes through a long tunnel formed by countless vermilion torii gates tightly lined up. Sunlight filters through the lattice, casting dappled shadows, and fox statues holding keys in their mouths can be seen on both sides. This is the boundary between the human and spirit worlds, and a key site where she encounters the gods.
