In *Tamako Market*, the central setting is a lively shopping street with a covered arcade at its entrance. Early in episode 1, the protagonist Tamako Kitashirakawa runs out from her family's mochi shop "Tama-ya" and dashes through the street, greeting friendly neighbors.
