In the OVA "Ray级 Goes! Imperial Pilgrimage" of *Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse*, the main characters ascend the stage of an ancient wooden temple built on a hillside. From here, they can overlook the layered rooftops of the town below and the distant mountain ranges. The stage is supported by huge wooden pillars, beneath which is a lush forested slope with autumn leaves turning yellow.
