Slope Scene
In *Whisper of the Heart*, the protagonist Shizuku Tsukishima walks up a long slope every day on her way to school. One morning, while she is struggling to cycle uphill, a boy's voice calls out to her from behind—it's Seiji Amasawa, who casually catches up on his bicycle, and they have their first conversation at the top of this slope. The slope is lined with quiet residential houses, sunlight filters through the leaves, and the air is filled with the feeling of summer.
