Ryokan exterior
In *Beyond the Boundary*, at the end of episode 1, Akihito Kanbara helps a wounded Mirai Kuriyama to a traditional Japanese ryokan. The wooden building has a dark blue noren curtain and two red lanterns at the entrance, with a wooden sign reading "Ryokan" under the eaves. Mirai lies in a second-floor room and delivers her famous line: "There is no future that I can call my own, so I won't accept it."
