Kōyōen Station Square
In *The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya*, the first episode opens with Kyon walking through the square of a ground-level train station. The scene shows the station exit, a row of waiting taxis, and distant hills and residential houses. It is a sunny morning as Kyon ponders his ordinary high school life.
