North High Side Gate
In *The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya*, the protagonist Kyon passes through this ordinary metal sliding gate every morning on his way to school. A wooden sign with the school's name "North High" hangs beside the gate. Morning sunlight filters through the trees as Kyon walks in, starting another day of his cynical narration.
