Kyon's crosswalk
In "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya", at the beginning of the first episode, the protagonist Kyon walks across a crosswalk with his schoolbag. The morning sun shines on the quiet residential street, traffic lights change colors, and he mutters inwardly about the monotony of daily life. Distant hills and low houses form the backdrop; this is the first exterior shot of the story.
