North Gate Slope of Kitakou
In *The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya*, there is a gentle slope in front of the north gate of Kitakou (prefectural North High School), lined with cherry blossom trees. This is the daily route protagonist Kyon takes to school. Haruhi often waits here or gathers with the SOS Brigade members before entering the school gate. The gate is a double iron fence gate with a wooden sign reading "Prefectural North High School" hanging beside it.
