Riverbank under the Bridge Pier
In *Flowers of Evil*, after school, Takao Kasuga is summoned by Sawa Nakamura to the underside of a large bridge pier. Beneath the concrete structure by the riverbank, it's dimly lit, with water shimmering in reflection. They stand in the shadow as Nakamura confronts Kasuga in her usual twisted tone. The rough surface of the pier contrasts with the weeds on the riverbank, creating a suffocating, tense atmosphere.
