Inside Nara Bookstore
In *The Flowers of Evil*'s first episode, Takao Kasuga walks into a small, old-fashioned bookstore after school. The shelves are tightly packed, the light dim. He slips a copy of "The Flowers of Evil" manga from the rack into his bag when the shopkeeper isn't looking. Just as he is about to leave, his classmate Sawa Nakamura catches him, and they face off at the entrance. The bookstore has a hanging curtain and a weathered signboard.
