In *Kamichu!*, the protagonist Yurie walks along a long slope every day on her way to school. The slope is lined with traditional Japanese houses, with cats occasionally sitting on stone steps. At the end of the slope, you can see the blue sea and distant islands. When the sea breeze blows, the star jasmine on the roadside sways gently. This scene appears in the opening sequence and during multiple commutes.
