In the first episode of Robotics;Notes, the protagonist Kaito Yashio rides his bicycle to school in the early morning, passing by an abandoned airport control tower. The white tower stands beside fields, surrounded by low houses and palm trees, with the sea visible in the distance. It features a circular observation deck on top and a square concrete base; on the wall, faint faded characters reading 'Tanegashima Airport' can be seen, now illegible.
