In *Suzume*, protagonist Suzume Iwato and the chair-shaped Sōta Munakata walk along a path beside a clear river. As dusk falls, they arrive at a hot spring town surrounded by mountains. A quaint wooden public bathhouse emits a warm glow, with a noren curtain at the entrance and steam rising from the roof. Inside, they meet a kind elderly woman and spend the night at the inn. Behind the building is a dense forest, accompanied by the sound of flowing water and insects.
