Kyon and Yuki's crossing
In *The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya*, this is an unmanned railroad crossing surrounded by quiet residential neighborhoods. Kyon passes through here many times, especially in the snowy winter scenery, standing alone by the tracks with the crossing gates down, framed by bare trees and low houses. Yuki Nagato also talks with Kyon here; the red signal light stands out against the gray sky.
