In *The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya*, the protagonist Kyon visits an old apartment building on a snowy night, knocking on the door of a certain heroine. The entrance has rusted mailboxes, dim hallway lights, and steps covered in snow. This is where the story’s pivotal turning point occurs.
