Dark Slope
In *The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya*, the protagonist Kyon walks alone late at night on a slope with no streetlights. Residential walls and tree shadows line both sides, and only dim moonlight illuminates the pavement. He is burdened by thoughts of the altered world, and his footsteps echo in the silence.
