Ichigaya Station Intersection
In *Mieruko-chan*, on an evening after school, the protagonist Miko approaches a crosswalk at an intersection. Looking up, she spots a huge gray monster standing on the opposite sidewalk, its body distorted and face blurred. Miko freezes in terror, pupils dilated, unable to take a step. Pedestrians hurry by and cars pass under the traffic lights, but only she can see this horrifying presence. The crosswalk stripes, traffic signals, and low buildings in the background form the setting of this iconic moment.
