View from the Battery Ruins
In *Summer Time Rendering*, after returning to his home island, the protagonist Shinpei first visits a battery ruins on the island. The site retains old gun mounts and rails. He stands on the high ground overlooking the sea, the wind blowing, with a vast horizon in the distance – the starting point of his journey.
