7th Station Trail
In *Encouragement of Climb: Next Summit*, the protagonists ascend Japan's highest peak along a steep, rocky path covered with volcanic scree at high altitude. Dense fog limits visibility; the climbers breathe heavily and encourage each other. Rustic huts and trail markers appear occasionally, but the surroundings are mostly bare rock and sparse alpine plants.
