Usoda Slope (Liar's Hill)
In *Higurashi: When They Cry*, on a summer night, protagonist Keiichi Maebara confronts Rena Ryugu on an uphill road on the outskirts of the village. Standing under a streetlight, holding a cleaver, Rena flashes a creepy grin and delivers the famous line “Liar!” (Usoda!), followed by a thunderclap. The guardrail and distant mountains create a tense, eerie atmosphere. This is one of the most iconic scenes, taking place on a path leading out of Hinamizawa village.
