Lake and Mountains
In *The Wolf Children Ame and Yuki*, after Hana moves with her children to the countryside, a volcanic crater lake lies near their home. The lake is surrounded by rocks, and young Ame (son) once explores alone by its shore, with snow-capped mountains in the background. In summer, the children play by the lake, which becomes a witness to their growth.
