Inn's communal bath
In *Ueina Botan, Yoe Sugata wa Yuri no Hana*, the inn where Botan and her friends stay has a shared bathroom. At night, they soak in the hot water, surrounded by white steam rising from wooden walls and floor. Holding cups of sake with flushed cheeks, they chat leisurely about romance amid the mist. Outside the bath, bamboo baskets and plastic stools are placed, and a small round mirror hangs on the wall.
