First encounter on the railway bridge
In the first episode of *Sankarea*, the protagonist Chihiro walks alone on a railway bridge over a river after school. Below, the river flows gently with grassy banks. He spots a girl in school uniform crouching by the riverbank, seemingly watching something. As he approaches, she accidentally falls into the river. Chihiro jumps in without hesitation to save her, but since he cannot swim well, he ends up in danger and is rescued by the girl instead.
