The road where Shiori parted
In *Kanon*, on a quiet snow-covered street, the protagonist Yuuichi bids farewell to the sickly girl Shiori Misaka. Shiori, wearing a white coat, smiles and waves goodbye against a backdrop of gray sky and sparse tree branches. Low houses line both sides of the street, with deep snow underfoot. The scene is tinged with a gentle melancholy and reluctance to part.
