In *Natsume's Book of Friends*, Natsume Takashi and his cat companion Nyanko-sensei often wait for a train on this station platform. Beyond the platform, distant mountains are visible on one side, and town houses on the other. Sometimes in the evening, golden sunlight spills onto the platform as Nyanko-sensei lounges on a bench while Natsume, backpack on, gazes down the tracks.
