Iguchi Alley
In *Island of the Sea and a Cat*, the heroine often walks through a narrow seaside alley. Old wooden houses line both sides, ivy covering the walls, with stone pavement underfoot. Occasionally a calico cat can be seen curled up under the eaves, sunlight streaming from the alley entrance, and the sound of waves in the distance. This alley connects the main street to the coastal path.
