Tunnel under the Expressway
In *Durarara!!*, characters often pass through a tunnel located under a highway viaduct. Concrete pillars support the traffic above, the tunnel walls are lined with lights, and there are sidewalks on both sides. In one iconic scene, the protagonist emerges from this tunnel upon arriving in the city for the first time, witnessing a black motorcycle speeding by. At night, the tunnel's lights contrast sharply with the shadows of the viaduct.
