In *Tsurezure Biyori*, this quiet countryside station square is a daily passage for the protagonists to commute and shop. A simple handwritten timetable hangs in front of the wooden station building; a few old bicycles and a bus waiting to depart are parked on one side of the square; wind chimes hang from the eaves of a small shop in front of the station, with cicadas chirping on summer afternoons. The girls have met here to walk together or waved goodbye.
