Large lantern at the Kaminarimon gate
In *Sarazanmai*, the three main characters and the antagonist confront each other in front of this vermilion gate with a huge paper lantern hanging under its eaves. The lantern bears bold black calligraphy, while statues of the wind and thunder gods stand on either side, marking the setting as a symbol of both beginning and closure.
