First encounter at the base map
In *Hisone & Masotan*, the protagonist Hisone is taken to an air force base, and her first pause is before a large metal guide map of the base. The map marks runways, hangars, control towers, and other facilities. Behind her are gray barbed-wire fences and a row of neatly parked vehicles. She wears plain civilian clothes, with a look of puzzlement and curiosity. The morning sun slants onto the sign, making some letters hard to read due to reflection.
