The Big Red Lantern at the Thunder Gate
In *Travel Frog*, one of the postcards sent back by the frog shows a massive vermilion gate, with an enormous black-bottomed red lantern hanging in the center, inscribed with the characters 'Thunder Gate'. Fierce statues of the Wind God and Thunder God stand on either side, while tourists and pigeons gather below. The frog sometimes sits under the lantern, looking up at the roof of the gate.
