The Approach to Kashima Shrine
In *Teasing Master Takagi-san*, Nishikata and Takagi go to visit the shrine together. Beneath the vermilion torii gate, Takagi deliberately slows down, then suddenly hops up the stone steps, turning back to give Nishikata a sly grin. The steps are flanked by dense woods, with sunlight filtering through the leaves creating dappled shadows.
