Kumano Shrine at Dusk
In "Tsukigakirei" (Tsuki ga Kirei), after school at dusk, the heroine Akane Mizuno and the protagonist Kotaro Azumi walk side by side up a long stone staircase topped by a shrine torii gate. They stop on the steps, the atmosphere tense, marking a key location for their growing relationship. Sunlight filters through the trees, casting dappled shadows, and the sound of a train can be heard in the distance.
