Shrine entrance steps
In *Mawaru Penguindrum*, episode 20, at dusk, two young men stand before the stone steps of an old shrine. Behind them is a vermilion torii gate surrounded by lush greenery. One says gravely, 'That child gave everything to repay the 'fate'.' The other replies, 'Then must we give everything too?' The area is empty, only the rustling of leaves in the breeze. This scene is a prelude to the climax.
