Under the Elevated Bridge
In March Comes in Like a Lion, this is the space under an elevated bridge where Rei Kiriyama often passes by or rests alone. Next to a bench among concrete pillars, light is fragmented into alternating bright and dark patches by the bridge structure, with stray cats occasionally wandering. Rei leans against a pillar eating convenience store food, or encounters the Kawamoto sisters here against the backdrop of traffic noise.
